    THE LEGENDS OF JAZZ

    In 2014 bestormde bestormde The Legends of Jazz met trompettist/zanger Michael Varekamp de Nederlandse podia met spraakmakende visuele trip over Miles Davise gevolgd door  enerverende voorstelling over het leven van jazzlegende, jeugdheld en de allereerste zwarte superster, Louis Armstrong en een prachtig intieme theatervoorstelling BILLIE! over Billie Holiday met de getalenteerde actrice en zangeres Joy Wielkens.

    Wat volgde was een indrukwekkende zegetocht langs de Nederlandse theaters en media.  The Legends of Jazz trokken volle zalen en vele malen  live op tv te zien bij DWDD en Omroep Max.

    Inmiddels zijn de Legends of Jazz uitgegroeid tot een wervelende live act die ook buiten de context van het theater hoge ogen gooit en de tent plat speelt. Er volgden optredens in de North Sea Jazz Club maar ook tijdens Ubud Jazz Village International in Bali. Louis! is een spetterende feel good show die de toeschouwer het gevoel geeft terecht te zijn gekomen op een bruisend feest in New Orleans waar het leven uitbundig gevierd en geleefd wordt met alle ups en downs die daarbij horen. Het leven met een lach en een traan. Vrij vertaald, de blues.
